"I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama," she said.
Madonna then, however, seemed to change her tune after being met with a mixture of cheers and loud boos.
"Seriously, I don't care who you vote for as long as you take responsibility for the future of your country … Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote," she continued.
This is not the first time Madonna has drawn criticism for making a political statement during her MDNA tour: in May, she attracted the ire of French politician Marine Le Pen for superimposing a swastika over her face as part of a video montage.
In September she confused fans at a show in Washington DC by calling Barack Obama a "black Muslim"
